Spiders Cookies - The Healthy Halloween Cookies for Toddlers

Spiders can freak some of us out. Turn them into these irresistibly tasty baked creations and they’re anyone’s best friend.

We love this recipe at Halloween time, but it’s a winner all year round when you’re looking for a nutritious treat that’s not just your ordinary cookie.

So grab your tiny human, your electric mixer and a whole bunch of tasty ingredients to create your own spooky cluster of spiders that everyone can’t wait to gobble up.

And the best part about it?

These healthy Halloween cookies are not only good for your Toddler, they’re also super quick to whip up. Quick enough to make this the perfect family Halloween activity.

Whether you add edible eyes, play with melted chocolate or let your imagination run wild, they’re certain to be scarily irresistible.

Makes 9 spiders I Prep 20 minutes I Bake 15 minutes

Ingredients

DRY

  • 1 oz or ¼ cup arrowroot flour
  • 1 ½ oz or ⅓ cup coconut flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp sea salt⠀

WET

  • 5 ½ fl oz or ⅔ cup tahini
  • 2 ½ fl oz or ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg and 1 yolk, room temperature

    TOPPINGS

    • Chocolate truffles or raw balls
    • Melted chocolate
    • Edible eyes

    Method

    Preheat oven to 350 F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

    Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.

    Cream the tahini, maple syrup, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer and add the egg and yolk until fully combined.

    Stir in the chocolate chips and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight if possible.

    With wet hands, roll little balls, place them on baking tray and gently flatten with a fork.

    Bake for 10 - 15 minutes or until golden brown.

    Allow to cool on a wire rack.

    Slice a raw ball I chocolate ball into two pieces and place of top of cookie. Add melted chocolate legs and sugary spider eyes for decoration.
